About Christ the Redeemer Tickets

Christ the Redeemer Tickets is an independent guide to visiting Christ the Redeemer, and to the rest of Rio de Janeiro around it. It is not the official website of the statue, the Corcovado train or the national park, and none of them owns it or has a say in what it says. We do not sell tickets ourselves.

What you’ll find on the site

The heart of the site is the visit itself: which ticket to book, the Corcovado train and the park’s official vans side by side, guided tours, opening hours, how to reach the boarding points, walking up through the forest, and the statue’s history and how it was built. Around it are guides to the rest of Rio, from Sugarloaf Mountain and the beaches to the airports, getting around the city and day trips.

Why it’s worth reading before you go

The rules of the visit (opening hours, closures, the ID you need to show) come from the official sources, and what a ticket includes comes from the page you book it on, so what you read here is what you find at the top.

Every ticket is the ride up and the entry in one, so the real choice is how you go up, and we say which way suits whom. The train is the classic route, through the forest from Cosme Velho. The van suits anyone staying near Copacabana. Cloud can hide the statue for hours, so look at the summit’s live camera before you set off.

How the site is paid for

The site is free to read. When you book a ticket or tour through one of our links, the company selling it pays us a commission, and you pay the same price as you would booking with them directly. The details are in our legal notice.
